Experienced Captain Phil DeVille explores the Florida Everglades.

Experienced Captain Phil DeVille explores the Florida Everglades.

There’s a certain excitement that happens when you fish the Florida Everglades that is hard to replicate. The sheer variety of fish species found in the south coast waters of the Everglades is mind-boggling. There are more than 100 species in the water. When something takes the bait – you’re never quite sure what it is until you’ve landed it. I prefer fishing the Everglades Backwaters – the prize catch for me are tasty mangrove snapper, pompano, flounder or sea trout.

If you’re going to even think about fishing the Everglades be sure to have a reliable navigation system, map and preferably an experienced fishing guide. Captain Phil DeVille knows the Everglades and is one of only a few guides licensed to fish these fabulous waters. His vessel is comfortable for up to four adults and can fish two people. Captain Phil DeVille Everglades Fishing Charter departs from the Port of the Islands Marina. Port of the Island is about twenty minutes south of Marco Island.

Every fishing trip in the Florida Everglades features adventure and spectacular scenery.  Everglades wildlife viewing on past fishing trips have included: a close encounter with a sea turtle, a manatee that drifted just under the boat, a pair of nesting Osprey, an alligator basking in the sun, a pair of frolicking dolphins, a swirling tarpon and countless birds and waterfowl.

A fishing trip to the Florida Everglades with Captain Phil is an experience for any member of your family to enjoy,  and one they will never forget. Read about Florida Backwater Fishing. Florida is world famous for outstanding Backwater, Everglades, and the 10,000 Islands
