Marco Island Florida Restaurant Dining Reviews
Southwest FL Restaurants, Cafes, & Eateries: Marco, Goodland, Isles of Capri Naples Florida Fine Dining
Marco Island is a Mecca for food enthusiasts. Italian seems to be the dominant flavor on the island, however many
other ethnic choices are available from: Tex-Mex, Mexican, Seafood, Pizza, Chinese, Bar-B-Q, German – Austrian and others. Let us begin with Pizza. An American comfort food for ages and something the kids always seem to enjoy. The best pizza on the island is the roasted garlic version from VANDY’S. This mouth watering, thin crust, red pizza is loaded with slow roasted garlic cloves and just melts in your mouth. There is nothing like great pizza in a sports bar with TV’s at every table. They have a great beer selection as well.
On to ARTURO’S home of the stuffed pork chop, the house specialty. I have also learned that the Fresh Snapper Livornese is beyond outstanding. The Soft Shell Crabs Francais delightful and the certainly know how to do Spaghetti a la Bolognese. Very nice bar area, a great place to have an after dinner libation and a great wine list. Read more about Arturo’s in Marco Island Living.
DAVINCI’S is another of the wonderful Italian ristorantes on Marco Island. Do not miss their Lasagna Bolognese or the Fettuccine Carbonara. The Sea Bass alla Toscana and the Scaloppini Saltinbocca of Veal also are some of their Meditarraen favorites. For lunch or dinner. You will not be disappointed. Indoor and outside seating in the Marco Walk Plaza courtyard with a very nice wine list and full bar.
HOUSE OF MOZART, an outstanding southwest Florida restaurant with a European flair has incredible Wiener schnitzel, Goulash Vienna, and Poached Filet of Sole. My favorite desserts here include; Heisse Liebe a vanilla ice cream parfait with raspberries and cream, Crepes “Salzburg”, and the traditional Apple Strudel. The Marco Walk Plaza Courtyard also
offers two more of my top dining choices on the Island. Nacho Mama’s offers Tex-Mex and American fare. Indulge yourself on Sizzling Fajitas, Nacho Grandes (large enough for 4), Seared Ahi Tuna, Shrimp and Scallop Burritos, Carne Asada Steak Taco’s, (one of my favorites) and they make a wonderful Buffalo Chicken Salad. They feature a full liquor bar, 5 large screen TV’s, and super Happy Hour Specials.
Nestled between Nacho Mama’s and DaVinci’s is: CAPT BRIEN’S Seafood & Raw Bar as well as Off The Hook Comedy Club. Let’s start with the best Fried Clam strips south of the Mason Dixon Line. They are incredible! The Ahi Tuna mouthwatering, the Captains Classic Roast Beef Sandwich is a meal in itself; and the grouper locally caught and prepared 6 ways. Capt Briens is a must visit while you are there try a mojto there are the best. After hours Capt Briens turns into one of the hottest comedy clubs in southwest Florida. They have name acts like Dave Brenner and comics from many of the major TV show like SNL, Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central. Ask about the reserve setting and enjoy dinner with a front row seat.
I have a few more favorites when visiting Marco Island or Southwestern Florida include: Simply Cupcakes. Tucked away in the shops of Olde Marco is Simply Cupcakes of Olde Marco. A nice way to end any meal is with one of these custom, cupcakes. For a friend’s birthday I bought six different kinds and we split them in four and had a feast of decadence. Try all of them! My favorite is Chocolate Espresso. Two other incredible finds: Little Bar on the island of Goodland. I had driven by this place a thousand times and would never have believed the size of this restaurant, and quality of the food here. Fresh Seafood and Steaks served on the water. This is an entertaining restaurant with live music themes days including “spammy jammy”. The other nearby island – Isle of Capri, boasts one of the “best” fresh catch restaurants in the area. The feature of the day is what they caught that morning. You can have it fried, broiled, or sauteed which is the house specialty and worth a try. This fresh fish entree is served with the house “wedge” with your choice of dressing. The creamy garlic is more than outstanding as well as the blue cheese. The fried gulf shrimp are so sweet and tender, you will also bring half of them home. The Chocolate Cream Pie is a definite for dessert fans. This is a very casual dining experience, family owned. Tell them Marco Island Living sent you.
There are many great eateries like The Sand Bar – not on the beach and not just a bar. Sand Bar serves, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Appetizer ‘s and a drink. Enjoy the pickle. The Red Rooster Breakfast & Lunch with fabulous Omlettes & Quiche is a nice choice. Of course, you can always stroll by the Snook Inn or The Sunset Grille for a beverage on the water. Marco Island has it all. See you in Marco and enjoy the food.
