Ahoy mates!
Capt. Brien is in the house and serving seafood at it finest on Marco Island. Capt. Brien's Seafood & Raw Bar located at 599 S. Collier Blvd. serves authentic New England food in the middle of a tropical paradise.
Capt. Brien, who originated from the Massachusetts shores, has combined the wonderful flavors of both Gulf and New England Seafood in his large Restaurant and Comedy House filled with a fun Open Island atmosphere. The enticing smells from the open kitchen lure you in.
Seafood is flown in fresh from New England daily. Ipswich whole belly clams, Maine steamers and gulf shrimp, sea scallops and Maine lobsters - all prepared fresh from scratch and cooked to order. The Fresh Lobster Martini, Maine lobster meat served with drawn butter and cocktail sauce in a large martini glass, was loads of fun. Florida Stone Crab Claws (in season) are always a big treat.
All you land lubbers sit yourselves down too! The roast beef sandwiches are slow roasted, medium rare and thin sliced to order with your choice of toppings. My favorite out of the seven selections was the Captain's Classic - Thin sliced roast beef, grilled onions, BBQ sauce and melted American cheese. The combination was messy and finger-lickin' good!
Dinner choices like Fried Seafood Platters, Jumbo Gulf Shrimp, BBQ Beef Tenderloin Tips (some of the best I have ever had) and Blackened Snapper & Grouper are only the tip of the iceberg on Capt. Brein's large menu. Fisherman remember... You catch it, filet it and bring it in and we'll cook it your way! Your catch is served family style with French fries, Cole slaw and onion rings (see menu for details).
Capt. Brien also offers Off The Hook Comedy Club every week, Thursday thru Sunday. Headliner and name comedians perform live to a packed house. If you like to laugh, this is one of the hottest places to be.
As you can tell, we dined at the Capt.'s table several times during our visit to Marco. Since they're open seven days a week you will find yourself gravitating there often, knowing that the food will be great. My newest favorite libation from the large bar menu is the Mojo. They have the greatest Monkey in a tree adornments...the whole place is just FUN. And remember, they are now also open seven days a week for breakfast too.
The wait staff service is better when the Capt. is in the house. But overall, the food is fantastic, the price reasonable and again this is a FUN place to be.
