Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
Located at the western edge of the Everglades on the Gulf coast of Florida, the Rookery Bay Reserve encompasses 110,000 acres of coastal habitats including pristine mangrove forest, uplands and shallow waters. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, bird watching, and many other recreational opportunities. At the Environmental Learning Center, learn about the unique creatures that share our coastal environment through interactive exhibits, aquariums, film, art gallery, weekly programs, and nature store.
